Standing at my kitchen sink, looking out over the pasture, I am reminded that God's lovingkindnesses and His compassions are new every morning (Lam. 3:22-23). How does God do that? I know His ways are higher than mine and His thoughts are beyond mine as the heavens are above the earth (Isa. 55:9-10).
God's lovingkindnesses and compassions are beyond my comprehension. He provides love and compassion for each of us every day. He provides them whether we accept them as gifts or not. In my mind, I can see Him opening up the windows of heaven and pouring out incredible blessings beyond our understanding. Rich colors that transcend an artist's palette shine forth from the morning sun. The vivid colors are a delight to me and a reminder of His favor.
My heart rejoices as I relish His creative blessings for my morning. Yes, God provides blessings beyond measure every day. However, many times I am too busy and preoccupied to even notice. His gifts are unopened and unappreciated. Oh what heartache that must cause Him!
The writer of Lamentations tells us how God provides new lovingkindnesses and compassions every day. He does it though His great faithfulness (Lam. 3:23).
Father, I ask that You remind me to slow down and enjoy Your amazing gifts and rich blessings. I want to share Your lovingkindnesses and compassions with others. May You be honored and draw others to Youself by the opportunities that You provide for me to reach others. Help me to be faithful, Lord. Amen.
