"Let the one who has My Word speak My Word faithfully," declares the Lord (Jer. 23:28b)
Preparing to Speak:
Understanding Your Audience
Do you want to touch the hearts of your audience with your message? Learn the emotional needs and expectations of your audience. Explore what types of information they seek. Bring your message for a brainstorming session (as time allows) and identify strategies for packaging your message to change lives.
When You Speak,
Make Your Message Memorable
Do you have a message burning in your heart? Whether your audience is a Bible class, women’s conference attendees, or even an editor, you can make your message memorable. Bring your message to this session and learn to present it so your audience remembers it. Using this simple concept, you can take your message from the page to the stage. Your audience cannot act upon your message if they can’t remember it.
When You Speak, Expect the Unexpected:
Coping with Challenging Circumstances
How do you respond to a challenging and difficult situation during your presentation? You may have heard “That’s not true” or “I don’t believe that!” or “You don’t know what you are talking about.” Ruth will share from her years of speaking experience to provide insights into possible situations that confront speakers. Whether you are a new speaker or a veteran, you will learn strategies for coping with challenging people and circumstances so you can ‘expect the unexpected’.
Make Your Point:
Strategies for Beginning Speakers Parts 1 & 2
Does panic strike in your heart when faced with the prospect of giving a speech? Whether your audience is a secular group or a Christian one, you can learn to communicate what’s on your heart. Ruth will share practical ideas for preparing yourself and polishing your message to minimize your fear of public speaking. You will learn to make your point.
Speaking and Writing from
a Heart of Joy
Remember what joy felt like? What is the joy of your heart? Where do you find joy? David prayed, “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation.” You will leave this session refreshed and renewed to share the message of your heart as you speak and write for the Lord.
Strangle Your Writing Struggles:
Hope for Weary Writers
What causes a writer to struggle? Where do we find hope when we are weary? This workshop is designed for beginning writers who feel overwhelmed with their calling to write for the Lord. Participants will consider God’s perspective on their struggles and His purpose for their writing. Weary writers will discover God’s provision for coping with struggles that interfere with their writing.
