"You have a big heart," a perceptive young child remarked about Ruth as she assisted him. Ruth enjoys sharing her heart as she inspires others to discover hope, calm assurance, and excellence in God's Word. As a women's ministry leader and student ministry volunteer for her church, Ruth encourages and equips others to enjoy the journey.

With over two decades of speaking experience to a variety of audiences such as women's groups, Bible study groups, healthcare professionals, college students, and corporate executives, Ruth brings a unique perspective to every group she addresses.

Ruth's professional career began in the late 1970's as an officer in the Dallas Fire Department, eventually earning the rank of Fire Prevention Captain. In addition to speaking to thousands of groups, Ruth also appeared on television and radio. She taught public speaking and communications on the college and professional level. As a member of the Christian Fire Fighters Association, she ministered at the bedside of many critically injured burn patients.

More recently, Ruth shared hope and guidance for serious illness and end-of-life issues as a medical social worker for a hospice and home health agency. For seven years, Ruth owned and operated a Christian gift shop where she shared hope with others every day. 

For her service and business endeavors, Ruth received the Dallas Fire Department Special Recognition Award (1992) as well as recognition as the Delta County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Owner of the Year (1998) and Volunteer of the Year (2004).

Ruth writes a regular column for her local newspaper. As author of Release What's Good: Embrace God's Best, Ruth inspires others to embrace God's best. She contributed to six books, including Making the Blue Plate Special - The Joy of Family Legacies (Life Journey) and Wired That Way (Regal), Give Thanks! glimpses of an extraordinary God in the lives of ordinary people (Essence). Ruth served on the teaching staff of Glorieta Christian Writer's Conference in New Mexico.

Ruth graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas and CLASS - Christian Leaders, Authors and Speakers Seminars. She is an Advanced Certified Personality Specialist and graduate of Advanced Speaker Mentoring of Upper CLASS by renowned speakers and authors, Florence and Marita Littauer.

In 1981, Ruth married the love of her life, Bill, and they enjoy living in northeast Texas. Ruth's favorite pastimes are reading, painting, and spending time with their grandchildren.
